Journey to Citizenship

ree

This picture will always remind me of a very special day for my wife, Daniela.

Family and friends joined us 6 years ago for her naturalization ceremony where she became a U.S. citizen.

My wife is from Chile and 60 other countries were represented at her ceremony that day. There was so much excitement and joy in the room as people celebrated their new citizenship and were now united by this common bond.

Becoming a U.S. citizen is not a process that should be taken lightly. Completing this process with my wife has given both of us a deeper appreciation for what it means to live in the United States and enjoy the liberties we have.

When we desire and work hard to accomplish a task, we will appreciate it more, and ensure what we earned is not easily taken away. We will always be thankful for the rights and freedoms we enjoy in this great country. I am glad to be reminded of these things when I look at these pictures and am happy to share them with you.

I am reminded of the importance of exercising our right to vote to make a difference in our country, state, and town. Your vote matters this election.

Election day: November 7th.
