Raising Awareness

It was an honor to be invited to speak to a group on the topic of raising awareness of human trafficking in order to prevent its dangers and effects on our community.

My experience as a police officer allowed me to share valuable information on this critical topic that is sadly too prevalent in our country and state. I was able to provide information to help us understand how and why so many become victims of this horrific crime. Tips were given to help ensure we are taking proactive measures to be sure us and our family members do not fall prey and we learned how to identify if others already have.

We discussed how to prevent human trafficking and learned the most effective ways to report suspicious behavior that may be related to it or other crimes.

It was encouraging to see the great work being done by Present Age Ministries in raising awareness about this topic and helping those who are or have been victims of it in the past.

I am grateful to have been invited to speak at this event and I look forward to continuing using my public safety and community service experience to ensure Weddington is not negatively impacted by rising crime.
