Successful Campaign

I am deeply touched by the support and kind words I received from hundreds of residents who came to vote.

Throughout the six-month campaign, I strived to connect with everyone and serve each of you well. It was an honor to have gotten to build relationships with so many amazing people in our town throughout the process. Being a politician doesn't start when in office but at the start of the campaign.

How one performs as a candidate is a reflection of how they will serve when elected. The methods used to campaign will likely be the methods used to lead.

Throughout the campaign, I focused on the issues of our town. Sharing my lifelong community service experience and the skills I have that allow me to be an effective mayor. Slandering and belittling opponents or associating with those who do, was never part of my strategy.

I didn’t set out to win, I set out to be an example of integrity in politics that I, along with many others, crave to see. I am far from perfect and have no strength or ability to do this alone. God is the source of my strength and I am grateful to those who hold me accountable and supported me along the way. I always seek to treat others with compassion during each encounter, including those with differing views, while navigating the divisive issues of politics today.

My campaign was never a desperate attempt to manipulate votes but a sincere desire to set a positive example and represent our town well.

I look forward to continuing to work to improve our town and ensure the accountability of our elected officials in the weeks, months, and years ahead. My family's future is here and I am proud to call Weddington home!
